Auld Lang Syne

Information coming soon about Auld Lang Syne II (2010) and Auld Lang Syne III (2011).
Looking back at the first annual Auld Lang Syne
Reminiscent of grand Viennese style, the evening began with a black tie optional dinner under the sparkling chandeliers of Carnegie Music Hall followed by a concert featuring the talents of internationally renowned mezzo-soprano Marianne Cornetti with the Resident Artists of Pittsburgh Opera. Led by Pittsburgh Opera’s own Music Director, Antony Walker, Ms. Cornetti and the Resident Artists were accompanied by all 65 members of the critically-acclaimed Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra.
Favorites from composers such as Johann Strauss, Bizet, Lehàr and Verdi showcased the exceptional voices and ensemble, while excerpts from New Year’s Eve favorites such as Die Fledermaus and The Merry Widow Waltz delighted the audience. Guests joined in with an exciting sing-a-long performance of Funiculi Funicula to cap off the concert.
After the concert, the celebration continued in the Music Hall Foyer with an assortment of delicious desserts, dancing and a midnight champagne toast to welcome the New Year.
