B.M., Curtis Institute of Music; additional studies, Juilliard. Performed
with opera companies of New York City; Santa Fe; Boston; Miami; Washington,
D.C.; Baltimore; San Diego; and Milwaukee. Soloist with the Philadelphia
Orchestra, and New York Philharmonic. Appearances with Marlboro and
Casals festivals. Vocal master classes at Blossom Music Festival; San
Francisco Opera Center; Santa Fe Opera; European Center for Opera and
Vocal Arts, Brussels; Israel Vocal Studies Center; and Westminster Choir
College.
One of the most important private voice teachers in New York, Ms. Malas
is also on the voice faculty of Juilliard, the Manhattan and Hartt Schools
of Music, the Curtis Institute and the New National Theater in Tokyo.
She has given master classes for the Metropolitan, Santa Fe and Australian
Operas, the San Francisco Opera Center, the European Center for Opera
and Vocal Arts in Brussels, and the Israel Vocal Arts Institute.
