In preparation for Pittsburgh Opera's first world premiere of Daniel Sonenberg's The Summer King - The Josh Gibson Story, Pittsburgh Opera will be sponsoring a number of community events in and around Pittsburgh. We invite all to attend these events to hear about the history of this new production, learn about the historic Negro Baseball League, gain background information on the life and career of Josh Gibson, and even listen to sneak peaks of some of the musical pieces in this new work!
Each community event is different and will feature a different mix of individuals including Pittsburgh Opera representatives, composer Daniel Sonenberg, Pittsburgh Opera Resident Artists, and featured performers from the production. You won't want to miss these must-see events!
