If Rinaldo were a movie, you can imagine the casting: heroic Rinaldo, with chiseled features; ingenue Almirena, with virtue to spare; and enchantress Armida, Queen of Damascus and a truly delicious villainess. In this colorful, quirky fairy tale of an opera, you'll cheer for all three as Handel's glorious music brings our hero to victory in battle and in love. Our Resident Artists star in this production at CAPA Theater. Baroque specialist Michael Beattie conducts; Crystal Manich (La bohème, 2009) directs. Chatham Baroque provides continuo. 2010-11 Season Sponsor: PNC Production Sponsor: Giant Eagle Foundation |
| Join us one hour before each performance (EXCEPT Jan. 27) for the Pre-Opera Talk. Free to all performance ticketholders, Pre-Opera Talks are full of insights on the opera, the composer and more! |
Sung in Italian with English texts projected above the stage.
