Pittsburgh Opera continues its popular, free Brown Bag Concerts in 2021–22. Attracting approximately 200 people each month, these free, one-hour, informal performances feature Pittsburgh Opera's Resident Artists.
Our April Brown Bag explores the rich traditions of global operatic music with an afternoon of Spanish-language poetry + song.
Our Resident Artists will sing a repertoire of Spanish-language works including Tonadillas (short, satirical musical comedies), folk songs, songs for children, and more. The music is inspired by the poetry of Federico García Lorca and others, whose poems will be read as part of the performance.
