As a leading arts organization in the region, Pittsburgh Opera is committed to developing and presenting world-class opera as well as investing in socio-economic growth in our community. We sustain the classics, introduce new American works to the Pittsburgh region, and nurture future opera stars. In addition, we provide robust education and community engagement programming, ensuring that all in the community have access to high-quality opera. This coming season, we are seeking Corporate Sponsorship for our Team Fundraising Challenge, a critical part of our fall program The Return to Magic: celebrating Pittsburgh performing arts’ return to the theater.

The arts community is a vital part of Pittsburgh’s economic landscape. Pittsburgh Opera has a more than $8.5 million annual economic impact on the region. Our influence spans more than 43,000 audience members each year, impacting all areas of the economy, including the theater, hotels, restaurants, transportation, and more. As a leader in the Pittsburgh arts community, more than 65% of Pittsburgh Opera’s annual production costs are reinvested locally, evident by our contribution to the city’s workforce.

In celebration of our return to the theater and the start of the 2021-22 season, Pittsburgh Opera introduces The Return to Magic. This program will start in September with a two-month community-based Team Fundraising challenge culminating in The Diamond Horseshoe Dinner, a black-tie dinner in the Terrace Room at the Omni William Penn, and Magic and Spirits, an interactive costume party at Pittsburgh Opera Headquarters, both on Saturday, October 30th.

We invite you to become an integral part of this program by sponsoring one of our five dynamic fundraising teams. To double the impact of our Team Fundraisers, we are engaging corporate partners to sponsor each team. Sponsorship of the Team Fundraising Corporate Challenge is the perfect opportunity to support our city’s renaissance by partnering with Pittsburgh Opera. This grassroots campaign is powered by five teams of opera lovers from across the region who actively challenge each other to individually raise $1,500 for a total team goal of $5,000. Team Fundraising brings a bold and engaging community element to the program. It will drive awareness and cultivate new and wide-reaching entry-level donorship for Pittsburgh Opera and brand awareness for any company. Corporate sponsorship of team fundraising starts at a minimum of $5,000 to match the entire team’s fundraising goal. However, if the team raises more than $5,000, the match can be extended.

Further, serving as a Team Fundraising Corporate Challenge Sponsor includes the following additional benefits:

  • 5 complimentary tickets to the Magic and Spirits party
  • 5 discounted tickets to Magic and Spirits – 20% discount code provided
  • 10 complimentary drink tickets
  • Company logo displayed on team’s fundraising website & Magic and Spirits Event
  • Company recognition on all The Return to Magic e-newsletters and emails
  • Supertitle Screen recognition at every performance during the 2021-22 season
  • Corporate partnership and logo recognition on Pittsburgh Opera’s website
  • The opportunity for company employees to join and participate in team fundraising

Should you be so inclined, event sponsorship for The Return to Magic as a whole is also available. If you have any questions, please reach out to Christine Brondyke, Manager of Corporate Development and Special Events, directly at (412) 281-0912 x225 or via email.
