Auditions
Pittsburgh Opera holds auditions for principal roles, chorus, orchestra, supernumeraries, and the Pittsburgh Opera’s Resident Artist Training Program on a regular basis.
Principal Roles
Pittsburgh Opera conducts general auditions every December in New York City and by appointment in Pittsburgh. These auditions are not associated with any future repertoire but are for general purposes only.
To be considered for an audition, please send a cover letter, resume, photo and/or recording to: William J. Powers, Director of Administration and Artistic Operations, Pittsburgh Opera, 2425 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 or by e-mail to wpowers@pittsburghopera.org.
We regret that we are not able to audition all who submit materials and only selected applicants will be contacted for auditions. Applications are accepted from both represented and non-represented singers.
Chorus
Pittsburgh Opera hold annual chorus auditions in May of each year.
Details for the 2010 chorus auditions will be posted in early 2010.
Orchestra
Pittsburgh Opera conducts auditions for the orchestra based on the needs and vacancies in the orchestra. If you are interested in auditioning for the orchestra, please contact: Chris Powell, Music Administrator, at cpowell@pittsburghopera.org. Please also check this Web site regularly for updates.
