Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra Auditions
AUDITIONS for SECTION VIOLA (tenure track) are postponed until further notice.
Qualified candidates must submit a resume of professional performance experience IN PDF FORMAT to Robert Boldin, Manager of Artistic Operations.
Audition repertoire and time assignments will be forwarded by e-mail. No phone calls, please.
Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra members belong to Pittsburgh Musicians' Union AFM local 60-471.
Pittsburgh Opera Chorus Auditions
Annual open chorus auditions will be held, by appointment only, in the Pittsburgh Opera offices located at 2425 Liberty Avenue in the Strip District at a date and time to be announced.
Classically-trained singers in all voice categories who have completed at least one year of undergraduate vocal study may schedule an audition appointment. Auditions are 5 minutes in duration and an accompanist is provided. Applicants should enter the 25th Street entrance at Liberty Avenue.
- one memorized aria or art song sung in Italian, French or German
- Singers should bring a one-page performance experience resume; headshot is optional.
To schedule an audition, applicants should send an e-mail to Mark Trawka, Chorus Master, with their resume in PDF FORMAT, and contact information including mobile phone number. Times are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Pittsburgh Opera Chorus members belong to the American Guild of Musical Artists union.
Pittsburgh Opera conducts general auditions every December in New York City and by appointment in Pittsburgh. These auditions are not associated with any future repertoire, but are for general purposes only.
